Originally from a small town in Michigan, now living overseas in the Arabian Gulf.  I left home at 18 and went in search of the world and myself.  I attended Friends World College in Huntington, Long Island,  an Alternative Education Institution which focused on World Peace.  The motto of the school was Peace through Education.  I ended up studying Middle Eastern Studies and Peace and conflict resolution, eventually living in Jerusalem for a year and half.  My path veered several times and I ended up with a BA in Interior Design from EMU.  I found myself struggeling with the emptiness of worrying about wallpaper samples and paint chips and plubming locations in a plan.  Now, I am teaching English to second language adult students here in the Arabian Gulf and although it’s rewarding, it’s not my destiny.  I am a seeker of religions, and have studied several in depth.  I even attended seminary for awhile.  Finally, I found Islam as a beautiful compromise to most of what I’d been learning and have been studying with special emphasis on Islamic mystical teaching in Sufism.   I recently had an epiphany and plan to go back to school to get my Master’s degree in Counseling with an emphasis on diverse religious backgrounds. I’m happily married which gives me the security to seek  and grow while knowing my greatest ali is at my side.
